Fished Huntington Reservoir today with Koldfeet and Signalfool. Chester and icing_perch were also up there. There is about 5 inches of ice, then about 8 inches of slush and then more ice. Bottom line is that it is about 40 inches from the top of the ice to water. Fortunate for us that it wasn't two inches thicker or we wouldn't have been able to reach water with the power auger. No slush, but that will change one of these days (probably not for a week or so, but who knows). Fishing was non-stop when we first got there and started fishing at about 7:00 AM. That lasted for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and then it slowed down considerably. Saw fish on the fish finder almost all day, but trying to get them to bite was often a challenge. Except for Chester, he continued catching them almost one right after another most of the day. Beautiful day, nice to meet some new anglers and a great day of fishing.
