...what a great idea.. I think.. but dont quote me on this.. I have seen somewhere that you can put a small hole (just larger than the bodkin) in the top of the canister and then slide the bodkin in thru that hole a couple of times and it will clean it.. if memory serves me right the only reason to make that modification is so that you dont have to take the lid off each time you want to clean the bodkin..
