The 3 hour drive would probably be worth it. Anything any closer will be pretty smart. They have had a round or two put close to them, they dont stick around.
I would make an over nighter out of it. Go west hunt all day, Then the buffett in a Wendover casino, a couple cocktails to end the day and a good night's sleep and do it all over again the next day and then home.
Or, Leave the wifes in Wendover, go hunt, come back and join them, Go out again the next morning. Go back for them and then home.[
