"There are about 2500 wolves in Minnesota and 1.2 million deer, more than four times the deer in Utah. Of course they don't let the cattle destroy the forests"

1- Comparing Whitetail deer to Mule deer and Elk; Brilliant

2- Comparing Utah habitat with Minnesota habitat; you must be a Biologist.

3- There is a thing in Utah called winter range. this is where the Mule Deer and elk reside during the winter[angelic]. Unlike "whitetail deer", mule deer usually avoid human populations and reside in these areas. Whitetails can thrive about anywhere. I don't have enough time to explain it but just pick up the book "Mule Deer Country" by Valerius Geist and he can explain it much better than I can.

I will agree that you do have a point with building cabins. Deer have lost a lot of habitat due to "cabins" They have also lost out to the subdivisions in Wasatch Front. I don't have a solution to that problem.

Before you start suggesting we get "rid of ranchers", maybe you ought to thank one. They are the ones (if you can believe it) supply you with your big mac's.

However, I may be jumping the gun a little. Perhaps you are a vegetarian, I wouldn't be surpised.

Have a wonderful day.
