Anyone here favor wolves coming to Utah?
#33
I don't think I said anything about not managing the wolf. The shoot shovel and shutup attitude is a poor excuse for a management plan. It sounds more suitable for a gang of vigilantes or one of the gangs that roam our cities. It certainly isn't appropriate for someone that calls himslf a sportsman. Even the plan for yellowstone in 95 included removing wolves that interacted with livestock. The wolf certainly are going to eat elk that is the primary food source for this species. Your figures are very similar to what they are finding inside the park.
I am glad Wyoming has finally got their management plan accepted. Idaho and Montana plans were approved a long time ago.
I was glad to see someone mention Valerius Geist. He is one of the leading authorities of big game animals of North America. Certainly someone we can all learn from. Like I said before this is my opinion.
I am a consumptive user of wildlife. I enjoy hunting. I respect the species I pursue and I respect the challenge they provide. It is that challenge that keeps me going. gshorthair
