I was up there last year on the 1st of july. It's a ways up there. We came from the Tony grove side and had a car parked at the other end. To walk up from the bottom is a good six or so miles, maybe more . It's about to the top of the mountain so I figure it's still in snow and ice. There was still snow in some of the shaded spots when we were up there. The stream doesn't actually run out of the lake. It just soaks out somewhere so I'd daunt if there are any fish in it unless it's stocked and I would be surprised if it was. But I don't rightly know. My thoughts are someone's messing with you, trying to get you to hike to the top of a mountain in hopes of having a great day fishing while knowing themselves their isn't a fish to be caught. Probably because they've tried it themselves, in which chase the jokes on them.[] Hope this helps.
