[black]I have a Sierra and like it except for one annoyance. It has a nice drag but it tends to back itself off while you're fishing so you have to keep tabs on it. [/black]
[black][/black]
[black]The fly reel that I have used with my noodle rods is a Daiwa spooled with a 9 weight Cortland 333 Rocket Taper. This line works equally well with my 10.5 or my 12.5 noodle rods. By the way I used the 10.5 with my Ambaseur baitcaster this fall for tossing spoons for Great Lakes salmon. Didn't hook up but man I could cast a mile using 15 piond mono. Don't be afraid to slap any reel on any rod and experiment. Be like TUBEN2 and myself. Start thinking outside the box. [/black]

[black]If you think of it one of the latest trends in bass fishing is called "drop shotting". I used to tie a bell sinker on the end of my line after attaching a mini marshmallow one or 2 feet up to fish for carp when I was a kid. When I grew up (did I ever do that?) I discovered that guys were using exactly that setup with a floating roe bag to catch migratory Great Lakes steelhead. Heck some of them even used the marshmallow. You don't really think some guy in Japan invented "dropshotting". It's been going on on this side of the world for decades with live bait. Now they use plastics and call it a brand new way of fishing. (yeah, right!)[/black]
