Who was saved
#26
Well, except for that one (well, two) time in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. [cool]

Unless I am mistaken, neither Iran nor Iraq has ever used WMDs against any neighbors. Saddam definitely used chemical weapons on his own people, which was sick and horrible. I don't dispute that he was an evil dictator and that the world and especially his people are better off without him.

However, a 'perceived threat' is absolutely no excuse whatsoever to attack another country. That is exactly my point. We are a 'perceived threat' to many other countries. Supposedly that wacko Chavez in Venezuela considers us a 'perceived threat'.

To the USSR, we were a 'perceived threat' for more than 20 years, hence the cold war. Thank goodness Bush wasn't president back then. The cold war would've turned into WWIII and nuclear winter based on his logic. The USSR had nukes -- and aimed at us. We should've hit them before they hit us, right?

There are almost always much better ways to deal with perceived threats than to preemtively wipe them out. I would argue that we are less safe in America today, more hated by extremists, and have created more enemies for ourselves than ever before, due to the foreign policy of Mr. Bush and specifically the invasion in Iraq.

On a side note, isn't it fantastic that we have freedom in this country. What would've happened to me in many other countries if I spoke out against the ruler's decisions in public like this? God Bless America.[Smile]
