So, you missed a spike running thru the quakies? Are you sure you didn't hit that cow? All I'm saying is that accidents do happen. I'm surprised that someone who is "glad i dont live like that" would take a shot at a running spike thru the trees and then preach to us about ethics and your own high level of integrity. I think you did the right thing, and if I hit a cow it would be the "right" thing to turn myself in. Still wouldn't do it. Some things are worth going to court, losing my hunting privileges, paying steep fines and being treated like a criminal. Hitting a cow because I didn't see her thru the brush behind a big bull would not be one of them. Go ahead and rant, it falls on deaf ears.
