Sometimes, less is more. I firmly believe, that if I have no REAL proof I avoid information. I will generally Measure my catch, and up till recently leave the weight off as I had no proof as to it's weight and after fighting ANY fish my shaky arms are going to read more weight than what is really there.
I did buy a scale and check it regularly. It is within .06 of the weight. In other words, I weighed a 3lb weight. first reading was 2.6 and the second 3 dead on.
Anyway, back to the first sentence. If you have NO proof to how much a fish really weighs, why guess. You are looking for confrontations and doubts.
I LOVE fish porn and hopefully will not discourage Orvy from posting more of it, but LESS IS MORE.
Lunkerhunter, the picture speaks for itself that it is a very nice male fish, one any of us would kill for on a fly or not ( Fly has nothing to do with it if that is all you fish, even a 6" feels like a monster on a 1 weight.) But to be honest, it is not a very THICK fish, which means allot of weight isn't going to be there.
This whole post would not have gone to this point if LESS info was printed.
I look at the picture and when WOW! that is NICE and BIG, but then the 6-7lb was added and I too went WHAT?[crazy]
So, to all, to avoid this from happening and maybe keep a little mystery, IF YOU CAN'T PROVE IT, WHY GUESS. We are all to experienced for that and do recognize B.S. or Wishful thinking.
