Wow, that's quite early. I made it to Crawdad about 6:10 a.m this morning but didn't get on the water till about 6:45. I was attaching some experimental prop ducts on my trolling motors, you may have seen me there.
Overall it seemed like a real slow day. But that wasn't for a lack of people trying. I stayed and trolled castaics, AC Minnows, Storm Kick'n minows, and some one-off trout swimbait lures till noon and during that time I saw one boat pull in a double hookup around the outhouse. They looked smallish so I suspect they ran by a school of 'em.
Do you find that the fish usually start biting well before sunup? If that's the case then is night fishing (10pm - 2am) productive this time of year for cows?
