Finally hooked up with something worth posting, a 2'foot/5lb Catfish. Most of the coastline is littered with small striper, they can be fun at times but are mostly a nuisance. Most of the time I just pray for them to leave my bait alone long enough for me to catch some catfish, and I do catch one every now and again.
The other day a man netted some shad with a cast net, half way decent size too. He of course shared with me and another guy out there [
]. I have fished boulder harbor allot this last month, and haven't hooked up with anything to big. Once we started hooking up shad, the fun began. These things are like magic. Between the three of us we hooked up with 6 big fish and landed 4 of them. 2 Bigger catfish, 1 stripper, and a freaking 16 inch big mouth bass. I was expecting to catch stiper only for some reason, and the first one was a 7lb catfish.
Needless to day I went out and bought a cast net today lol.
