Cheap fix? Drywall screw. Does the job every time.[angelic]
Epoxy by any other name is still epoxy. But you'll want waterproof. Try to find Devcon. Superglue brand, Loctite brand or (Gorilla epoxy is water resistant, not water proof). Whether it's 5 minute of 24 hr. It'll work. Like Joni said, Zap a Gap will work too. But as Mr. P posts, scuff up the inside of the aluminum cap too. I use a Dremel tool. Gives it a place to bond to.
Or try the drywall screw.
