Watch the others. If they are nailing them with casting out and letting it sit with a bubble, what when they bring the line in to see where the bubble is to determine how deep.
If they are nailing them casting out and reeling in, then you too need to get to the bottom some how....(sinking line or sink tip)

BUT, if the fish are feeding on the top...you will be able to out fish any one as they can't get theirs in the zone like a fly can.
