You might be surprised to hear that the white bass and the lowly mudcats are the major predators in Utah Lake (according to the research performed by the folks in charge of the carp eradication) and the walleye are minor players. Unfortunately, none of the predators (at least those currently in Utah Lake) except for perhaps the rare northern pike, can eat many of the carp because the carp grow so rapidly and get so large.
