First day off in two weeks and I sat in the stand from dawn to dusk without a break .
Saw plenty of squirrels , grouse ,turkeys , a cardinal , a fox, a mouse , mosquitoes, and plenty of deer tracks in the snow but not one deer during daylight .
My plans were a deer first thing this morning and steelhead fishing on the Manistee by 11 am .
It's all good though , I'm recharged for another week .
No late season in my county , bummer for me .
