What makes strawberry so great is also what makes it have the tendency to grow trash fish. It has tons of food and a cool enough temperature to hold enough oxygen for an amazing amount of fish. If the trout do not fill the resivoirs food and oxygen capicity other fish will. I personally vote they simply change the limit to one trout over 25". That would of course mean very limited harvest for the next 2 years but hey we went through it when they poisoned it. This time we could have an amazing fishery within two years and could still fish it in the mean time so long as we could live without having the freezer full. Long term I don't know a fisherman around that wouldn't be happy catching 10 fish a day in the 20+ range and then taking one home at 25". We could have killer action on real trophies and still take home enough fish meat. At 25" those babies are heavy and have very thick fillets.
As for long term income. Think of the dollars a fishery like that would bring in. And you could still take a kid out and let him catch fish.
Sometimes good things comes with just a tiny bit of patience. Something the average fisherman doesn't have.
