This is a great discussion, and one that needs to be visited occasionally, even if it's just to examine your own position. I know that my thoughts and actions have changed over the years. (hopefully for the better) My opinion mirrors several already expressed. I'm mostly C&R, but if it's legal, it shouldn't be ostracized. That being said, there's one thing that's been a pet peeve of mine for years. Even though it's legal, keeping fish for the table, that are caught in shallow reservoirs such as Island Park Res. or Henry's Lake, and perhaps a few others, in the warmer months isn't very ethical. They taste terrible, and I'd bet that most are thrown away. Since it is legal, I won't say anything to those who wish to choke them down, or keep one to put on the wall, but they are too valuable to use as fertilizer for the roses.
