I like to get the topo maps for the area that i am going to be in. Usually the most detailed for any hike. For other maps get the US forest map for the area. The USDA has been making them plastic and they are quite detailed for the forest they cover. Since you are in Roy goto the Ogden Union station and talk to the US forest service center there. They will have all the maps you need. IF they do not have the topos then you can get them in a couple of places. One is the DNR on North Temple and Redwood in SLC. The other I know I have picked up one at the Ranger Station in Kamas. So check with the Ranger station covering the area you want to go.
