Help IDing this Penn Reel Part

I decided to take apart my old Penn 10 Level Wind reel for some much needed cleaning. After putting everything together, I found a small stud with a spring attached to it in my cleaning container. I can't find this part anywhere on the schematic. Anyone know where this part should go? Thanks!!!
