Hey everyone...first off I was referred to this wesbite by another forum and really like what I see. Now, back to the matter at hand [cool]
On Saturday I am leaving to go on vacation with a friend and his family to Cape May. While there we are going on a head boat for blue fish (in addition to surf fishing hopefully), and I wanted to bring my own gear if possible. My only rig I have now is not nearly big enough, a Fenwick HMX and Shimano Sahara 2000FX. The only other reel I have is a Browning Gold Medallion (or GM5000)...but no rod. Soooo, either way I need a rod, and if the rod isn't big enough, I will need one of those too. Normally I would be using this rod on the island of Ocracoke, where we go every year, but if the rod can be used fishing on the Allegheny River for example I would love to do that.
So I guess I am looking for a good recommendation on a rod (pleaes not a huge surf rod if at all possible), reel, what pound test line, etc that I can use for the previously mentioned purposes...
Thanks for any help!
Disclaimer: I know very little about fishing...so please be patient [blush]
