I might have 
people by misspelling "slimer", so I fixed it. Though slimmer could be an appropriate term, as the small trout are slim, and eating a baked trout will make you slimmer.
I've found one post here where someone used it on pike, I assume they use slimer as slang for fish in general.
I will give my impression of what the term is most commonly used for. I found that most people will use the term specifically for stocked rainbows, which is how I understood it, as apposed to all trout, or all stream trout.
More specifically you could say they are the smallest 10 inch rainbows that are disregarded by most fisherman. I say this because you probably won't hear the term used on protected, catch and release, gold medal cutthroats, while a ten inch stocked fish is trash in some peoples eyes.
Its
, every fish deserves high respect. They have tough lives, being pumped into over packed waters, preyed on by pike and muskie, mishandled and often thrown back dying or dead. If the fish is bleeding, or you didn't properly handle it, don't put it back to save room for the big one. These fish aren't like other fish, like the catfish which is a tank.
The small fish are easier to scale and the meat is tastier in my opinion. If you only want the big one, switch to an appropriate sized hook or lure.
If your simply fishing to get a high score, regardless of how many fish you kill, then your pretty low, and should consider another hobby.
I would appreciate a link to the regional slang terms.

I found a type of glossary in the general discussion, it certainly must have taken a lot of time, the problem is its not convenient to search through(maybe I haven't come across the index yet), and its doesn't seem to be perfectly alphabetized. since its so large it would be nice to see a guide page with links to each word, as time consuming as that might sound it would make it tractable when browsing.
One thing about forums is the good stuff seems to get buried, or mixed in with the irrelevant. Searching is the most useful tool but its still hard to find what your looking for most of the time, as it searches the entire database. Bigfishtackle is one of the better organized forums, I'm speaking of the forum system in general.
[#0000bf]That's some good advice. Mixing it as soon as you get all the ingredients. My problem with cooking is I never write anything down or measure. I just go freestyle and it comes out differently every time, sometimes as monstrosities : )
