[cool][#0000ff]Yes, there are several factors that could contribute to the problem. I suspect that the diameter of the line spool on the reel might be just a bit small for 10# line...of any type. Unless it is one of the larger model spincast reels especially designed for bass or catfish...with large spools...you can overpower them with heavier line than they are designed for.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Overfilling the spool is a common foul-up that many anglers experience...especially when they do it themselves with only minimum experience. We all want to get the most bang for the buck...or make sure the reel is full so we don't have to fill up as often. But unless you leave a bit of space between the lip of the spool and the line you will get more "boil-offs".[/#0000ff]
