[cool]Hey, Fishrmn, your firsthand observations have a ring of credibility. I had heard "wild tales" of the mountains of corn, but had kinda relegated them to the bin with tales of the huge catfish that lurk below every major dam in the country...and feed upon the divers who go down for maintenance on the equipment.
Inasmuch as I also lived and fished in Utah during that time, I know that there were severe chumming episodes going on. I just did not spend the time at Strawberry...in that "full contact" fishing scenario. I allowed myself to be dragged out on a boat on opening day...only ONE TIME. I decided that combat fishing was not my style. But, to return to the point, it did get to be like a hailstorm of corn in the more heavily congested areas.
So, as I understand it, the assessment is that corn abuse is more about sloppy fishermen rather than any negative effect on the troutskis. Is that a consensus, or do we need to get back into the intestinal tract of a trout?
