Fly Tying Kits?
#6
No not from Mtl area, although I did live there for 7 years. I'm originally from Sherbrooke, QC, but moved to Mtl, then for the last 24 years in Gatineau [Aylmer], QC, across the river from Ottawa.

As for specific flies or fly pattern, I'm no experts. I was in your situation 2 years ago. Put in a lot of money to upgrade my gear. Even started tying flies.

Not familiar with the Mtl area hatches, but the Club Les Moucheurs could provide you with some help.

Patterns to consider are various size of WollyBurgers, Adams, Midges, Streamers, etc. Overall, presentation is the essential, but sometimes fish will be difficult, especially if there is a hatch going on. If you can't match it, then it's hard to compete with Mother-Nature.
