Hope this helps.
Thanks,I believe you,its that I had noticed my trucks batt was getting weak ,but autoparts refused to refund me until the batt was weaker, they did say the amperage was getting low?
Same thing has happened to me BUT with cordless tool batteries. I think we've all been skinned by retailers, on occasion. Some refuse to replace under SATISFACTION warranty unless the battery is completely DEAD or some other limitation they decide to come up with.
I didn't want to wait so I bought a new one for my truck and I plan to continue to drain the used one with my trolling motor.I didn't want to wait for the battery to leave me stranded one day.I still have a year until the waranty expires. Its not the most honest thing I've done, but the battery is about to die,I would of got a new batt eventually,I just didn't want to be stranded somewere in my truckwhen the time came, but I can't wait till it dies completely so I can return it for a new batt for my boat.
Some retailers offer a SATISFACTION return on battery with NO prorating so the retailers should be honest and stand by that, and some weasel out some way. They shouldn't and wouldn't falsely advertise satisfaction, if it was hurting their bottom line. They could give no return, like on electronics- if it is hurting the bottom line. NOT personal (if it hurt you), JUST business (if it helps them) to quote them. Of course most businesses are not like this, but neither are most people dishonest. Each is just looking out for their interest because of competition/service which is what makes America roll.
P.S,I have two 2 deep cycle batteries,I sometimes alternate them, and its good incase one goes bad,you can still go fishing, its good back up.Paulpro likes to have two of everything. In all my years I think only one of these wallmart batt
I also use the NASA system of having 2 of everything (redundancy) within reason, because most of my excursions are quite remote and failure would be life threatening. If redundancy is not possible, the backup plan is for some lighter alternative propulsion. In the case of batteries, I would take 2 of the smaller ones (instead of one large one) and wire with series/parallel switch so I have turbo or limp home power in case of emergency.
have last past their warranty, remember to check the water level in the batt every now and then.Sometimes I row to a spot, then use the car batt to fish,or take one deep cycle and one car batt. I can trailor my boat with a small batt inside, just saying, its nice to go light every now and then.
Weight is everything when going to remote or packing in. You can also use a lightweight setup in most places where you use the heavy, but NOT the other way around.
Remember as a kid how regular bateries were always stronger than the rechargeable ones,"like in remote control cars"....same thing goes for the car battery, great power but for a shorter time.Ever have a bad reaction to battery acid,I have,it made me hard headed [laugh]
