I would LOVE to have someone show me how to catch LM and SM bass... Hey, just out of curiosity, why do you say a baitcaster is necessary?... Are spinning reels not good for bass?... I rarely keep any fish... I just like the fight, I catch and release for sure, that way some other kid can catch em.... But to each there own.... I also get pretty pissed about people taking cooler fulls home... There was a guy last year I saw take a huge cooler full of WB home two days in a row...
Last I heard there is no limit on WB at UL, so why would that piss you off?
If they did it to go over the limit as TD suggests of snaggers - that's a different story. Or if it's a different brand of fish - like Wipers or Walleye.
There's conservation ethics, and there's legal restrictions. Not always the same - and if an angler has a legal right, well . . .
Now can we educate, practice selective harvest, ensure proper treatment and care of a catch - whether it goes bank in the drink, or on a stringer.
I've actually encouraged some fellow anglers to keep a few - them panfish is some good eating I tell you . . .
and those that know the pleasure of smoked cookie cutter kitties. . . hmmmmm. But along the lines suggested - the bigger older fish, the spawning fish - and it's not just the females - at least with Bass - isn't it more the males that stick around and guard the fry?
