Well? How many of you contacted your representative or the governors office? Five times this week for us here. This is the crunch week as today or tomorrow is the last day they will be in session. The governor has like a set time something like 28 days to sign or veto the bills that are sent up. There is a list of those bills on the state web site. BFT has lots of forums with in this site that if you can take the time, should be visited. I have lived in 5 states in my time. I spent 25 years in Idaho and saw the shafting we took over the wolf. The year they were released the state wide average success for elk was 28% and my personal success for Bulls was 50%. Now that has fallen to 12 to 18 %. The state used to sell out on its non resident tags by February. Now they don't and many tags go unsold. The state has finally won the right to manage them and hopefully it will allow them to get some recovery on the elk herds. This Federal wolf program is shared by several states. Most sportsmen in those states feel wolf introduction by the Feds was a disaster. But they did bring Yukon Canadian wolves to the lower 48. On the other side of the coin a very successful Federal program is the salmon steelhead recovery. That effort needed to be managed federally as it crossed several state lines and water jurisdictions. Im just saying here that some is good and some is bad when it comes to federal and state governments. Using this forum as a way to get involved is good. It has a section for opinions and such. So I spoke out of line when I expressed that this is a fishing forum. I will leave it at that. I would have deleted my post right away had I been able to. But couldn't. I do not like to use on line forums because it is too easy to misunderstand a message. Pictures of fish and folks having fun yes. Now that is easy.
