Motor on pontoons?

Try to look at this from a little different perspective OT. I'm not a DNR Officer, I meant something a little different by my name...but I wouldn't blame the cop for giving you a ticket for wasting his time. If nobody put the registration info on the side of their boat, the Officers would have to check EVERYBODY. They do have better things to do, but it's a vicious cycle when it comes to these things.

This started out as an excellent post, and answered a question I had being a new owner of a pontoon and electric motor. I'll be getting mine registered, and I'll be proud to display my registration where it is clearly visible so I can concentrate on catching a big fish instead of being interrupted because of my negligence/laziness. I say that, because I'm not a rebel, so I'd have no other excuse.

So... an addition to the motor/registration question: Do you have to have a vin number for your toon/tube to get it registered? ...or have one assigned? I literally picked mine up today, and I can't wait to get it out on the water.
