Hey great post and PBH I totally agree,
As for the amount of officeers you saw. when it comes to the duck hunt I can almost promise you 75% are fed agents that only work in the field during FEDREAL hunts such as any water migration or "water foul" hunts. That is why you see the increased number. I have the same thing happen to me EVERY year almost EVERY time I go to bear river. I was talking to one one time after he told me he was a cop (30 min later) and alot of them acctully come from out of state. for a time peirod. Not all states enjoy the lenthy duck hunt that we get so alot to a couple weeks here then work some of the shorter seasons then come back to utah. but 75% of the agents in the "duck" field that you see during the season are fed agents.
Hoe that sheds a little light on there for ya guys.
Ohh and as for undercover. I love it. I had a couple talking to us 3 years ago and there was 2 guys sitting about 200 feet down the dye around a bend in plain site. We are sitting there talk to the agents and you could hear on of the guy say, I dont care if those geese come this way I am shooting" about 20 min before legal time. and sure nuff they came and they shot. less than a min later there on the dirt road in cuffs and guns and truck and every thing on its way to the fed's impound. funniest damn thing I ever saw.
