Thanks for clarifying that Matador. It was neither posted nor was it used for agriculture in anyway. It was wild lands. I do my best to always follow the law and the law broken according to the officer was not the tresspassing law stated in the proclamation. 23-20-14 & 23-20-3.5
Instead it was one used in more of a residential setting with much lower fines and obligations. It basically states that any property anywhere with a fence can be considered tresspassing if it is private. My response to that was so I can't fish the entire Provo without permission slips?
The entire middle provo as well as middle weber that have accesses over the fence do not require a permission slip from owner yet look identical to where I fished. I am not saying these guys don't do their jobs I just wish they would team up with willing anglers such as most of the board members here and give us the cell #'s of the officers in each area and let us be the eyes and ears for them so they can make more significant arrests. And I have no problem with being stopped and talked to on this private land. I just wish I would not have been treated as if I just killed some trophy moose or something. It was done after completely reading the proclamation fully and complying with every law stated within. I spent over 40 hours last year on volunteer river clean ups and restorations. I do care about our rivers and the publics perception of fisherman in genral. I am just saying everyone everywhere has broken a law. How would you like to pulled over for going 1 mile an hour over and have the book thrown at you. Being treated the same as if you had stolen a car. Have to miss a day of work to go to court, and be completely humiliated in front of your inlaws. (Who by the way did not get a ticket because it was there first time fishing)
I am just stating that things sometimes just feel as though the system of officers are not all balanced. The majority are great but their are a couple with chips on their shoulders.
