SPRING WAVEFISHING $150.00 PRODUCT PHOTO PROMO
#22
Went to the levee today on one of the St. Francis River chutes and fished under the bridge then north of it about 50 yards. Got these two Largemouth on a spinnerbait with blue and white head with a pink skirt and a white wavefishing 4" Swimbug White trailer.

I caught about 10 bass total but I'm uploading the largest and smallest with the lure in their jaw.

The bass today where smashing this lure and almost swallowing it. Every one I caught had the swimbug trailer down their throats. I took the images without moving the bait so you could see how they were engulfing it.

Good afternoon of fishing at one of favorite secret spots. (no one goes there because it is so noisy with the traffic going over the bridge overhead on Interstate 63).

**edit you have to hike several hundred yards to get to this bridge and my secret honey hole blue cat spot so many don't want to do it. It's through some pretty high growth and you will be sweating by the time you get there and have to sit and drink some water and take a break before you even start fishing. Some of the best spots are that way here in the Sunken Lands Wildlife Management area that was created from the great New Madrid earthquakes of 1812. I am so lucky to live only 1 quarter of mile from this Arkansas treasure.

The Arkansas Game and Fish even warns at their site about this: Sportsmen using this area should take precaution against becoming disoriented and lost in the woods. It's a wonderful area and full of Lunker Largemouth but dangerous.

Largest one two angles:

Even one year old fry hit this large profile bait... I didn't expect a fry from last spring to hit a spinner with trailer this large but they were.

I had a great afternoon fishing but it got to hot for me and a family of Beaver showed up and started swiming and playing in the area I was catching the most bass then the bass just turned off and not even a strike so I called it a day.

Here is a pic of this same area and one of my favorite honey holes for large blue cats. It is about 30 yards up from this bridge and has a deep hole that no one knows about. I haven't even told my best fishing buddy Jimmy about it.

It's all mine. Three or four hundred yards in from the last place you can park a vehicle and not many are that dedicated. I am. During late summer you need a machete to cut your way to this spot. Hunters and fishermen get lost in here every year and have to be saved. I know it like my backyard. It is my backyard. Just saying. Most won't cut through overhead growth for almost a mile to get to a fishing spot. I will.

Tight lines everyone. I probably won't fish tomorrow so if you do fish, good luck and post some images catching em on wavefishing lures.

Mike.

** edit: btw that last image. I am probably the only fisherman in our county that fishes there. No one will hike with their gear that far into sunken lands. I have never seen another fisherman there in 20 years and I go there a lot. 3 or 4 times a year. I caught my largest blue cat there.

How dedicated are you?

lol... sorry this post was so long I had a great day fishing and felt like writing. Hope you enjoyed the story and the information.

Mike is out now.
