IMPORTANT!!! If you hunt elk in Idaho
#45
Pass thrus happen on farther shots with fast bows. My deer 72 yards was a pass thru. 70 yards was my limit and what i feel comfortable shooting. So I added 2 yards and still got a pass thru. With the way my bow is set up i am in the mid 80's for KE. If i have a broadside shot on an elk at 70 and i feel i can make it i will shoot. 5 years ago with my old bow it was 40 yards. It totally depends on the shooter and the bow. People miss deer at 20 yards. deer can jump the string. If you look at some slow mo video of deer jumping the string about 40 yards you can see the deer go low and start back up about the time the arrows get there. They jump the string more at shorter distances because they are startled about something being in thier bubble.

I know my abilities and my bow and i will continue to do what i think is in my limits.
