I have also been using Quantum Hot Sauce for years (you probably recommended it sometime way back when.) and it is great lubricant.

It is best when you CAN remove some of the gunk that accumulates inside the gears but you can sometimes just put a few drops of the Hot Sauce in through a small opening in the housing and it will migrate around and restore smooth action.
