Do You Catch More Fish When You Tie Your Own Flies?
#22
Unless it's an elk hair caddis, I don't tie dry flies. I've done it, it's not that hard, but I just suck at it and I don't care to get better. Nymphs, on the other hand, are fun. Bigger flies like crawdads, big wooly buggers, and bass bugs are my favorite, and are the best producers for me. I have a few carp patterns and a few bass patterns that don't fit into any real category, but I have lots of success with them.

So, to answer your question, yes I catch more fish on the flies I tie -- but I still buy a crap load and they work just as well imo.
