[cool][#0000FF]The walleye spawn at Deer Creek is about a month behind Utah Lake. Figure mid April into May. And it is also the scene of a big snagfest every year as the big females become vulnerable in the Provo River.

Serious walleye fans count June as the month when almost anybody can catch walleye. The are most often caught by bottom bouncing crawler rigs on the flats between the island and Charleston. But there are plenty caught along rocky shorelines by folks tossing crankbaits and plastics for bass. Also quite a few caught by bank tanglers soaking whole crawlers up off the bottom with a corky float.

The full moon in late June is the time and place to be fishing if you want a shot at a BIG walleye. They come in fairly shallow on the flats at the east end and fishing big cranks and swimbaits might get you a fish over 10 pounds. Lots of bigguns caught in late June or early July every year...depending on the lunar cycle.
