With winds out of the north at 15 mph and blue waters allthe way into the 2nd reef, had all the tell tale signs of a good dayof fishing. I headed towards anartificial wreck that sits in 150 ft. of water. We put out two kites with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite and onelive Goggle Eye on the deep line. Ourfirst two fish was a double header Mahi Mahi as mother and son brought bothfish in and DZ, our mate, gaffed them and placed them in the fish box. From there both kites were set up and sentout again – this time we had a silver torpedo that sky rocketed out of thewater 10 ft high, belonging to a Kingfish. Bradon was the angler and he did a tug of war with the Kingfish thatfought down deep. He succeeded inbringing the 26 lb. Anaconda Kingfish to the boat for DZ to gaff it, while hisjaws were snapping. We set up again, andthis time it was Marc’s turn. A blackshadow appeared, frantically ate the right short bait and swam off withit. The Sailfish kept exiting the waterwith leaps and bounds away from the boat. After a twenty minute battle, Marc subdued the Sailfish and brought himto the boat as DZ billed the Sailfish for picture taking and release.
