My buddy Noel had this happen as well as using mono,finally when his line broke on a hard cast using a large top water spook at the Bay,I took a look and sure enough there wuz a hair line crack at the first guide.Its hard to see but if you have 20/20 vision like me you can see everything.[

He had been fishing like dat for a week,constantly cutting off line and complaining until finally like I said his lure flew off and I took a look at the guides and found the culprit,its usually the first guide.
