-The regular ODC 420 is more durable because of the PVC bottom, but the top is the same as in the lightweight, it has been on sale numerous times. PVC bottom may a be better choice for big guys who will sit lower in the water with their hindquarters immersed and more of the tube exposed.
-The inflatable seat weighs MORE (about + 1#) than the foam seat, and has only been on sale 1 time since I have been receiving mail from the site over many years (I bought spares). If they do go on sale again, I will buy more extras to switch out, because of the 24 hour down time needed for good repair.
-The only leaks in 4 years of heavy use have been tiny seam leaks (not rapid deflation/pops) at about 30 inflation cycles, on the bottom inflatable seat bladders- 4 times at the strap area only. My guess on the cause is from strap stress on the seam. Permanent repairs by the interior plug method with aquaseal seems to work and have held for the last year or so.
-The extra 4 pounds is not such a big factor when hiking in. But, I cannot find anyway to roll or fold the heavier ODC 420 into as tight a package as the 420L. Heavier 420 takes up more than twice the SPACE for me.
Great customer service by them, have them actually weight it was great peace of mind for me.[/quote]
