a pair of insulated knee high boots are a good all around ice fishing boot. They keep your feet plenty warm and when its real cold and also dry when the slushmonster is present.
I learned that lesson last year at the view when I went in the dark at oh 2 am to fish for crappie, there was a foot deep of slushy water on top of the main cap and my feet where way cold and wet.
if I didn't have my heater It would have been bad.
