[#0000FF]Don't wish your life away. Yeah, fishingwise it is nice to have the luxury of being able to go fishing during the week. But by the time you are retired and have that time you find that you don't have the stamina to do all the things you would like to do...like fishing...and other things. Your fishing brain writes checks your older body can't cash.
I try to get out a couple of times a week but I find that if I plan my trips too far ahead they often get hijacked by Mama Nature. She is a real mother sometimes. I do best by having two or three alternative places to go and then making a final decision either the night before a trip or on the morning I have open.

"Quick question, how do you and tube babe actually consume that much fish? I know you have superior culinary skills when it comes to fresh fillets, but are you ever able to throw down turf with all that surf?"
[#0000FF]Yes, we do eat a lot of fish. And we seldom freeze it during the times of year we can go fishing enough to have fresh fish often. We also have a couple of family members who do not fish but who always enjoy the fillets we share with them. So nothing we bring home goes to waste. It also helps to know how to properly care for your fish and to have a lot of different ways to prepare and serve them.
We never do a "surf and turf" thing. First of all, at our age we have cut down a lot on how much we eat. Second, we hardly ever eat red meat...and that only sparingly. We eat a lot of chicken and some pork...and some elk meat chorizo I make. But most of our fish meals simply include a veggie or two on the side. Last night we had scampi style perch served over oriental noodles. Tomorrow night we will be making "kitty krispies"...catfish finger strips fried until they are crispy brown. The rest of the catfish we donated to my sis in law...who makes great cookies. I was going to smoke all the cats but had a revolt from my wife and her sister.
Probably more info than you really wanted. Sorry.
