A cheap, beginner's ice fishing sonar

I don't know about the specific model in question here, but I can tell you that I had a similar model for a couple of years and had a decent amount of trouble with it.

There were multiple times where it said there were fish in a given area and then I would spend hours trying everything in the book and not get a thing and then id move and have a location that didn't show fish and have non-stop action. I also had trouble with the transducer staying straight.

It did, however do a good job of letting me know how deep the water was, and so that was the main reason I brought it out since my main fishin hole was the berry and I generally have more success targeting certain depths. I've talked to other people with the same unit and some had better and some had worse results so I really think that it's a toss up. Hard to argue with the price though.

Mine finally gave up the ghost last year and so I've made the sacrifice and purchased a nicer (than the hawkeye) lowrance unit. Just waiting to test it out...
