[#0000FF]The three years previous to this winter saw hordes of perch in Starvation...almost everywhere on the lake. The only downside was that there were a lot more small ones and it was tough to get through them to catch the bigguns. Reportedly the dieoff was harder on the small fish and more of the larger ones survived.
Glen caught one perch about 6 inches long and marveled that it was the smallest he has caught this year. I caught several perch throughout the summer and fall...in open water... and don't recall catching anything under about 8 inches. Haven't put one on ice yet this winter and doubt I will keep trying.
