Somebody told me luck is when opportunity and preparedness meet. Fishing (and hunting) success seems to come to me when i use all 3 items discussed here. If i have done my homework, remember my experiences from past trips and luck comes calling it all comes together. Those are special times wether on the water or on the mountain.
But, like most of you, i go to nature to release stress and recharge my soul. Sitting on a shoreline chatting with my 75 year old father while my kids hear his stories is worth more than any fish. (Well most fish[])
Watching my daughter take her first tom turkey was priceless but we have spent many a grand morning without firing a shot as the sun came up in the turkey woods. Hiking with my son and seeing him find a shed horn or my wife taking her best muledeer buck after a scaling cliffs and wondering how we'd get down....these are the reasons i have such a passion for the outdoors. It's in my DNA and i wouldnt have it any other way. Regardless of the smell of skunk now and then.[]
