Always a combo of everything, but it all has to add up for never fail success, you have to be at the right place, the right time, with the right lure that the fish will eat. Every species and individual fish can be somewhat different or entirely different. But you have to learn what each fish species will generally do at all times of the year. There are some very weird patterns only fishing every day over a good amount of time can uncover. But those weird patterns do work year after year. 99% of even the best anglers uncover only general patterns. Literally the more time spent on the water, the more you will learn. Some occasional anglers never figure out any patterns whatsoever. A person who answers I'm fishing for anything that bites, will never catch any fish for any reason other than blind luck. Every fish will only respond to certain specific offerings.
