[#0000FF]I am definitely not scoffing at taking notes...or keeping detailed fishing logs. Been doing it for years and it has paid off not only in greater angling success but also in my wanderings down memory lane. Sometimes us old guys have to be content with revisiting old fishing logs rather than being able to get out amongst 'em.
The person to whom I referred is actually a scholarly type...who believes in seeking knowledge and being able to apply it. Not really belittling him. He is a fine friend and a good angler. Just a little inside joke I share with Kent, since we have both fished with this guy and felt like we were being interviewed for some kind of "tell all" news program. The good news is that he is always grateful and does try to learn from each new aspect of angling to which he is exposed.
In keeping with the tone of this thread, he HAS used the scientific method of acquiring knowledge...which he has used to improve his art. And, has been agreed by others, the more times you use what you know on the water the more chances you have to get lucky.
