Ha ha, yeah! Good discussion. Here's a quick story for ya; once I was on the Gros Ventre river (means big belly in Shoshone I'm told) fishing for one of the most iconic fish in the west I believe, the fine spotted snake river cutthroat. I was gearing up near my truck when a fancy pants dude and his wife pulled in. A discussion ensued about tactics, just as I was tying on a cranefly larva nymph, (which for the uninitiated looks like a big fat nasty worm). Fished with a couple of split shot and an indicator, it can be deadly, especially post runoff, and I'd had some pretty good action on it the day before. I was a little taken aback when the "dude" said he was going to fish dry flies and wouldn't think of fishing a nymph, that he'd rather catch nothing than do that. I just chuckled, his wife d embarrassingly I thought, and I went a fishing. They passed me a little while later downriver, and I was tight to a couple of fish as they worked their way by. He did just what he said he was gonna do, which was catching nothing on dry flies. I got a real kick when his wife lagged behind to ask me "what are you using again?"
