[#0000FF]I'll agree that advancing age (past 60) is a common condition leading to fuddism and/or curmudgeondom. But it has been observed in younger people. Wannbee fudds younger than 60 are often diagnosed as merely being a doofus, dimbulb, dingbat or the like...fudd starter kits.
And, while the traits of fuddism are not unique to men they almost universally ascribed to males rather than females. There is a whole 'nother set of terms for cantankerous old ladies with various problems. Don't get me started. Can't remember most of 'em anyways.
