Agreed -- wannabe fudds younger than 60 are indeed often diagnosed as being a doofus, dimbulb, dingbat, or the like, but the long established technical term for an underage fudd or curmudgeon, again, according to proper fishing etiquette, is fuddy duddy.... often abbreviated to dud.
These two terms are gender specific and apply only to the male fisher. The correct term for the female covers all age groups and is not specific to fishing. They are simply referred to as termagants.
