Transporting your ride
#21
Other equally important factors are sun exposure/water temperature.

For my ODC 420L there can be a difference upwards of 30% in pressure readings, depending on amount of sun exposure /water temperature. Garage storage pressure of inflated tube is 1.5#. No pressure change if transported inside the vehicle, unless the vehicle interior gets hot when parking in sun. No change in pressure while in use with Summer water temperatures. But Winter 50 degree water can drop the pressure to about 1.0# which is low, so I have to add air with my mouth tube. The added air for on the water use is removed before my return trip.

Here's a nifty pressure guage that works great with Boston and other low pressure valves: http://www.airhead.com/air-pressure-gauge.html
Amazon has better prices.
wow, learn something new every day,

It would have never crossed my mind about air presure in tubes at different altitudes.. I would have bursted a seem first time out.[crazy]

I bet you save a lot of gas on the way home.[:p]
